Grace Kim | John Hoffman | Matthew Brown

Grace Hyun Kim, PhD

Professor, UCLA Center for Computer Vision and Imaging Biomarkers (CVIB)

Dr. Grace Hyun J. Kim received her MS and PhD from the department of biostatistics at UCLA in 2001 and 2007, respectively. Her research interest is to develop and evaluate imaging outcomes using machine learning, and further to validate imaging biomarkers in the application of clinical trials. She has been a principal investigator and co-investigator in several NIH grants and initiated grants in interstitial lung diseases (ILD) and cancer related grants.

John Hoffman, PhD

Assistant Professor, UCLA Computer Vision and Imaging Biomarkers (CVIB)

John Hoffman completed his PhD at UCLA in biomedical physics and spends much of his time thinking about the intersection of research and the software tools used therein. His research interests include CT image reconstruction, high-performance computing, and the clinical translation of quantitative imaging biomarkers.

Matthew Brown, PhD

Professor and Director, UCLA Center for Computer Vision and Imaging Biomarkers (CVIB)

Matthew Brown received his PhD in Computer Science from the University of New South Wales. He is Professor and Director of the UCLA Center for Computer Vision and Imaging Biomarkers. For over 20 years, Dr. Brown has been researching knowledge based AI in combination with neural networks to increase real-world reliability. He is the instructor of the UCLA graduate course in Computer Vision in Medical Imaging and a co-founder of MedQIA, a company that applies AI in clinical trials. He was a co-organizer of the MICCAI Workshop on Pulmonary Image Analysis.
